Westchester library Events: May 2017

 

Here is a list of local library’s that are doing free events in Southern Westchester and one in West Harlem.  If there is a library not on the list that you attend please let us know and in the future we will add them to the list.  Please join our Facebook Group to find out more about fun events to do with your family.

New Rochelle Library

Here is the link to their calendar to find out what times and days these things are.  Some of them do require preregistration but all are free.

Baby Steps is a program of fun and early socialization through music, movement and finger games, for babies aged 3–18 months, and their moms, dads or caregivers, led by Nora Maher.

Nursery Rhyme Time combines stories, songs and finger plays for children ages 12–24 months, and takes place on a weekly basis during sessions held in the fall and the winter-spring, at both libraries.

Music and Movement introduces children ages 12–24 months to songs, finger plays, and fun moves, and is led by a professional musician/educator.

Toddler Time engages 2-year old children and their parent or caregiver in music and games, and takes place on a weekly basis during sessions held in the fall, and the winter-spring, at both libraries.

3, 4 & 5’s Story Time for children ages 3–5 years, includes stories, songs, and a take-home craft, and takes place on a weekly basis during sessions held in the fall, the winter-spring, and in the summer, at both libraries. This program is also offered in bi-lingual (English and Spanish) format at the Main Library.

Yoga Tots encourages toddlers ages 2–5 years to have fun “playing yoga”. Certified Kids Yoga Instructors from “Budding Buddhas” Children’s Yoga combine traditional yoga poses, props and engaging songs to build motor skills, confidence and relaxation skills.

Nature Tales for children ages 3–5 years, explores the wonder of science through storytelling, art, music and imaginative games. This program is seasonal program at HCL.

Global Tales brings children ages 3–5 years on exciting adventures through books, music, games and dances of the different cultures of South America, Africa, Europe, Asia and Australia. Participants will also create traditional arts and crafts and learn a few basic words in native languages. This program is seasonal program at HCL.

Toddler Time  Storytime for 18 to 36 months A 30 minute program consisting of picture books, songs, and movement appropriate for kids 18 to 36 months. Caregivers are expected to attend and their participation is an important element of this program. Sign up is required!
