I have recently decided that I am going to name the hats that I have made if they were not already named by someone in a free pattern.  Previously I was naming hats based on color and style.  In the end I had hats with very long names that were confusing.

This cute little hat I created for a little girl named Hailey shortly after she was born.  I used three different patterns to create this hat.  I really like the cluster hat stitch that I found by LisaAuch, but I really didn’t like the flower she had used.

I originally made a popcorn stitch flower that was way too big and was literally the size of half of the hat.  I saved the flower and attached it to another cluster stitch hat that I made in a 2-5 year old size for the Art Center and it works perfectly on that hat.  I am now calling this hat the Bianca Hat.

Once I realized that the flower I made wasn’t going to work I started anxiously looking through Pinterest looking for the perfect flower and I found the ruffle flower.  I fell in love with it as soon as I saw it.  I will be honest I am not a huge fan of the classic crochet flower.  It just isn’t my style.  Part of what kept me from crochet for so many years is that the classic style doesn’t appeal to me.  With the advent of Pinterest and the wide reach of the internet I can pick and choose parts of patterns that I like and I can make them my own.

The leaf on the Hailey hat is a third pattern.  I didn’t like the leaf that was shown with the ruffle flower.  So I searched Pinterest again for free leaf patterns and came across this beauty.

The Hailey Hat is my number one hat to date.  I have so much interest in it.  I recently just made four of them and I currently have another two on order.  If you would like me to make you one please visit my Etsy shop or contact me through Facebook.
